Job Description

1/ Financial Goals:

  • To help Unit Head in achieving product specific P&L & KPIs - CIF / Revenue / ENR (Portfolio growth) of Cards. Manage product level performance in generating revenue from existing portfolio and new acquisitions.

2/ Marketing and Business Development:

  • Formulate and implement Marketing and Business Development strategy for Cards Business while sustaining and building upon the brand position for the bank, keeping in view the social and market trends of the country.
  • Analyze the needs of the customer through research and develop card products and variants to address customer needs while delivering on the overall bottom line for the business. 

3/ Product Management:

  • Maintain and control the profile of the product inside HSBC and potential externally and so enabling sustainable growth.
  • Help formulate and shape new product enhancements and/or third party partnerships through customer insights, competitive analysis, customer research and in-market tests.
  • Ensure all current and future product initiatives are driving the right product economics in terms of revenue and profitability.

4/ Portfolio Management:

  • Constantly monitor key indicators of card portfolio and effectively use data to identify opportunities for enhancing revenue, controlling cost and strengthening the overall cards portfolio.

5/ Support Unit Management:

  • Develop seamless relationships with all key stakeholders (Sales, Risk, Legal & Compliance, IT & Operations, Marketing, and Customer Experience) in order to ensure smooth running of the cards business.
  • Ensure maximum participation through feedback from all levels in order to cultivate spirit of product ownership.

6/ Relationship Management:

  • Maintain good relations with the third party partners to ensure maximum benefit is gained for both the partner and the Bank.

7/ Training:

  • Personally and through others, holding and developing product expertise to ensure adequate training is provided at all customer touch points. Mentor and guide a team of product managers to ensure a high performing and efficient team.
  • Ensures staff is properly trained, provided with appropriate resources and motivated to adhere to risk management principles

8/ Product Profitability Management: 

  • Increase CIF, Spend & ENR, enhance Card Activation rate, reduce attrition rate 
  • Achieve revenue enhancement initiatives to be launched to maximize profitability
  • Achieve cost reduction initiatives to be launched to bring efficiencies in the system

Job Requirement

  • Degree in Business or Finance, post graduate is an advantage.
  • 8 -10 years’ experience with-in the card section of a Bank.
  • Experience with both Credit and Debit cards.
  • Experience with running the P & L of a Card Product line.
