Job Description

  • Lead the transformation of retail lending through leveraging additional new sources of data to improve customer decisioning
  • Optimise credit portfolios and strategies in order to maximise profit as well as controlling losses within risk appetite
  • Conduct deep-dive portfolio reviews to guide/assist credit changes and mitigating risks
  • Lead the risk team's involvement in key projects such as Digital lending and Basel II implementation
  • Provide the policy team with analysis to support credit policy reviews and changes
  • Maintain close dialogue/cooperation with credit policy, front line, underwriting teams and external stakeholders (e.g. Credit Bureaus/SBV)
  • Ensure managment information and regulatory reports are delivered accurately and timely
  • Lead and develop an effective team through communication, performance management, development plans and reward/recognition practices
  • Ensure changes to credit policies/strategies are implemented in system accurately and timely

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 7-10 year’s experience in banking/retail risk management
  • Excellent analytical abilities and how to obtain insights through data analytics
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk, Vietnam lending environment, and regulations
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders across the HSBC Group
  • Strong project management abilities and delivery-focus
  • Experienced at managing and coaching a  team of risk/data analytic specialists, while seeing the big picture to drive strategic change
  • Knowledge of SAS (or equivalent statistical software), lending systems and/or leveraging alternative/digital data for lending decisions is desirable.
