Job Description

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team of analytic professionals to optimise credit portfolios and strategies in order to balance risk/reward
  • Manage transformation of retail lending through enhancing credit risk infrastructure and usage of new data sources to improve customer decisioning
  • Conduct deep-dive portfolio reviews to guide/assist credit changes and risk mitigation strategies
  • Lead the risk team's involvement in key strategic projects such as Digital lending,  Basel II implementation and Stress Testing/ICAAP
  • Provide the policy team with analysis to support credit policy reviews and changes
  • Maintain close dialogue/cooperation with stakeholders across the Group, including business teams, policy, front line, underwriting/collection teams and external stakeholders (e.g. Credit Bureaus/local regulator)
  • Ensure management information and regulatory reports are delivered accurately and timely
  • Work closely with regional and local teams to implement credit strategies into systems. 

Job Requirement

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements: 

  • Bachelor degree
  • 7-10 year’s experience in banking/retail risk management
  • Excellent analytical abilities and how to obtain insights through data analytics
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk. Advantageous to have an understanding of lending environment and regulations in Vietnam or an emerging market
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders across the HSBC Group
  • Strong project management abilities and delivery-focus
  • Experienced at managing and coaching a team of risk/data analytic professionals while seeing the big picture to drive strategic change
  • An advantage to have knowledge of SAS (or equivalent), lending systems and/or prior experience in leveraging alternative/digital data for lending decisions
