Job Description

In this role, you will:

Impact on the Business/Function

  • Drive leadership positioning for HSBC as the world’s leading international bank.

- Advise senior management and provide Communications support to senior executives in order to create the best output in building the right reputation for the Bank both internally and externally
- Assist in the development of a compelling communications strategy for the Group in Vietnam and ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the plan
- Constantly generate positive coverage and internal content that reflects the Bank’s leadership position and strengths
- Help foster a values-based corporate culture through leadership messaging and employee communications

  • Reputation risk tracking, planning and coordination

- Understand and monitor regulatory, polticial, business and customer trends that could impact the Bank’s reputation in Vietnam
- Lead on issues management planning for reputation risks with material impact on the Group’s reputation in Vietnam
- Deliver timely and effective information to Group Communications to mitigate any contagion from country/region to Group issues and vica versa

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Employee Engagement 

- Actively work with Head of Communications, Vietnam to develop plan and implement employee engagement programmes
- Programmes consisting of townhalls, fireside chats, exchanges and other appropriate formats
- Organise and facilitate content for use
- Work with appropriate stakeholders Communications related event management
- Help deliver Global Campaigns in the most effective and impactful manner
- Seek agreement and approval of said content above covering Group strategy, developments, performance, Global Standards, cultural change and other appropriate content/themes

  • Media management

- Actively generate positive coverage of the Group in Vietnam
- Build and maintain influential relationship with editors and journalists of target media outlets in Vietnam
- Identify and engage with other influential voices in Vietnam
- Ensure the consistency and alignment of messages and initiatives across the communications activities of various global business
- Make full use of social media, both as an outbound communications platform and as a way of listening for trends in the conversation about HSBC

  • Market intelligence gathering and analysis

- Gather information on market and competitors

- Provide tactical and strategic insight for senior executives and Group Communications on developments in the market

Job Requirement

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements: 

  • Bachelor degree
  • At least 5 years experience in Communication field
  • Strong storytelling skills with proven ability to produce clear, engaging narrative.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Credibility with senior executives.
  • Good knowledge of the financial services industry and global marketplace.
  • Knowledge of communication trends, best practice media relations and employee communications tools.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and pressurised situations.
  • Good crisis management skills.
