We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Accounting & Valuation Officer 

In this role, you will:

  • Perform daily accounting for funds including:​

Advise Outsourcing team for booking to reflect cash movement in cash account comprising of justifying the reasonableness of cash receipt

Provide Trade team daily trade file for booking to reflect securities trading executed by clients and filing clients’ trade instruction.

Perform expense and income accrual/ allocation including manually booking and liaising with Supporting team for updating income accrual parameter

  • Perform periodic valuation oversight of Net Asset Value for funds including:

Perform checking on checkpoints on procedures including prices, cash balance, accruals amount, etc.

Liaising with clients, preparing system parameter and other inputs for valuation run and variance analysis

  • Check funds’ periodic reports required under regulation as per prescribed formats
  • Liaise with Direct Custody and Clearing (“DCC”) team in custody service related activities for IS clients including securities deposit/ withdrawal activities, recording of unlisted securities in GHSS. Send Corporate Action advice by email to FS client for assigned funds
  • Perform fee collection including preparing debit note, following up payment and processing on system
  • Liaise with Global Payment Solution (“GPS”) team to execute client’s payment instruction
  • Handle client’s queries related to accounting and valuation, liaise with other teams (GPS, DCC, Supervisory Bank, Transfer Agency, Regional…) to respond to clients’ queries of other matters, escalate complicated communication matters to Client Service Manager
  • Identify and report operational risk in day-to-day operation
  • Other client supports or internal control related tasks assigned by Manager

Maintain HSBC control standards and follow Group Compliance Policy to minimize operational risk by:

  • Remaining compliant with and ensures awareness of Audit and Group requirements and other internal guidelines.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with government banking regulations
  • Timely implementing internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

Job Requirement

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • 1-3 years experience                               
  • Any professional accounting degree would be an advantage
  • Certificate of completion of securities courses would also be an advantage
  • Good English and computer skills
  • Numerical and good communication skill and team work spirit
